ARMOR: HISTORY REWRITTEN
This Music Video will focus on “Rewriting History” from the Empowered Female Perspective
- - - - - -
We will tell the story citing major turning points in women’s history in the US
using animated still imagery to weave through existing performance footage
to give everything a consistent look and feel
(Like a history book, every page is different & held together by a common thread to tell our story)
The video opens on a leather bound book titled: History of Man
Ink drips on the cover forming “Wo” rewriting the title to say,
“History of WoMan”
(Example of animation style for opening scene)
It opens to reveal blank pages where the ink takes over and animates into the first scene
(Example of Ink animation style)

Using historical photos or illustrations from predominate moments where history is rewritten,
the technique below will bring these images to life & will serve as
the glue that holds all video imagery together
The first historical image is in the Garden of Eden
As we move through the book, the page turn visual lessens
(After the opening, page turn effect only happens at the bridge & end of our story)
(Examples of pivotal moments in women’s history)
1920’s: Women’s right to vote
- - - - - -
1960’s: Equal pay for women (Signed by JFK)
- - - - - -
1970’s: Rowe vs. Wade
- - - - - -
1980’s: Sandra O’Conner becomes the first woman supreme court justice
- - - - - -
2000’s: #MeToo movement
Sara will appear during each historical moment dressed in the attire of that era,
representing the women of that time, singing the Lyrics of the song
(This concept would only require Sara’s time for one day of filming)
Weaving through history, captions from each era are rewritten on screen
- - - - - -
“WOMEN CAN’T VOTE” becomes “WOMEN CAN VOTE”
&
“ABORTION IS ILLEGAL” becomes “ABORTION IS LEGAL”
Existing footage will be utilized loosely as chapters within our history book metaphor
