Music is our ohana
The story we want to tell for Maui is a mixture of culture, the spirit of the islands, people coming together in a more conscious and appreciative world all centered around what ties everything together. Music. The soundtrack of our lives, family, and story.
The ohana within.
Editorially, we think it might be a good idea to have two edits. One video edit that is longer for all of the important information covering more of the logistics and nuances of this incredibly harmonious and conscious project for music as the mission. And one edit for a very short inspirational video designed to pull on the heart strings for presenting to celebrity intrigue.
STORYBOARD / WORKING CONCEPT
We see this piece starting with very cinematic shots of the island.
Then cutting to close up shots of a local Hawaiian playing the drum, dancing, and other cultural nuances in a beautiful close up articulation.
We hear a voice over enter telling us of the dreams they have had of getting on a stage for millions of people to share their music and open for the biggest names in music on their home island.
From there we build the musical track of that artist we have been listening to.. . weaving into the story of how this music venue is calling everyone from around the world together for a gathering on this beautiful island in the middle of the ocean. A gem not only for Hawaii, and America, but for the world to come and experience music in a sustainable venue on an island with so much abundance.
We picture some of the interviews working into this that you already have but would love to explore re-shooting some of them for a re-articulation of cinema quality and sound quality. This also gives us the opportunity to focus in on what each person is saying for the overall messaging of this new story being told.
A large part of this video is the story of what has happened and will happen behind the scenes: Tracy Bennett. By showcasing Tracy Bennett's story we believe this will tie in people from all walks of life (sports, film, and music) in a compelling way that will reveal testament to much of Tracy's success, people believe in his visions and abilities to turn them into reality.
