SCRIPT
S01:
VO: When my daughter was little, she would paint these beautiful pictures of magical kingdoms and pretty princesses.
Action: Mother opens scrapbook of her daughter’s artwork and photos - Camera pushes into drawing.
S02:
VO: Her imagination was so vivid.
Action: Daughter’s drawing of herself as a princess in a magical kingdom comess to life in 2.5D as everything still has watercolor/child drawn feel. Enchanted forest with birds and forest friends wipe on like watercolor bleeding on paper.
S03:
VO: Then she turned 5 and started getting sick all the time.
Action: Dark ink flows over trees turning enchanted forest into a scary, frightening place. A little bird we see from previous scene is knocked off it’s branch and falls out of frame.
S04:
VO: I was afraid her world would fade to black and white.
Action: Daughter/princess stands with sad posture/expression in middle of ominous forest. All color has given way to dark tones and grays.
S05:
VO: When she was diagnosed with an immunse disorder, I felt scared and helpless. It was hard for her... and for me.
Action: Mothers hand (photorealistic) reaches into frame to try to rescue or help pull her daughter out of the dark forest, but the inky branches come alive and ensnare mom’s arm/hand.
S06:
VO: But plasma treatment changed everything.
Action: Just then, a golden and illuminated fairy/twinkling particle enters the forest and drifts towards the little girl. As it passes the trees and frozen forest animals, a wave of gold washes over them restoring them to their original state of color and vibrance.
S07:
VO: One of the biggest things I noticed was the color back in her cheeks.
Action: The fairy/particle swirls around the girl, restoring her vibrant color and she appears more invigorated/stronger.
S08:
VO: She looked healthy and alive.
Action: Girl twirls and her wand emits a swirl of golden particles (Everything is still drawn, but perhaps slightly more refined)
S09:
VO: Now she dreams of being a nurse some day.
Action: Camera cuts to the hand drawn blue bird we saw previously, now on the ground, with an injured wing caused from the fall. The little princesses hands gently scoop up the little bird.
S10:
VO: She sees how BioLife Plasma donors have helped her, and she wants to pay it forward by helping others.
Action: Holding the bird, the princess uses her magical wand, and gold particles shower over the little bird. It flaps its wings in joy, and flies back to it’s branch above.
S11:
VO: I cant thank the donors enough.
Action: Camera pulls out of the drawing, back to reveal the book once again on mom’s lap. Drawing shows daughter/little princess holding magic wand in front of her face like she’s sprinkling the world around her with golden particles.
S12:
VO: They made my daughter’s life - and mine - vibrant and beautiful again.
Action: As mom puts the book down, you now see her 5 year old daughter sitting on windowsill, dressed up as a princess, blowing bubbles. The book gets set to the side as Mom walks over and sits beside her daughter, blowing bubbles together and laughing. Outside the window the gold particle zips past, with gold dust faintly catching on the leaves of the trees outside.
concept sketched in storyboard form.
OLDER MAN
Through live action, cell-animation, and 3D animation we see the struggles of an older man with auto-immune disorder.
CREATIVE REFERENCE #3:
Live-action Transition filming affect we want to utilize in the concept below.
CREATIVE REFERENCE #4:
A selection from our portfolio showing a cell-animation approach.
SCRIPT
S01:
VO: For 52 years I was living with a chronic immune disorder.
ACTION: Match strikes and fades up from black. Match leans over to light 52 candles on a cake in the shape of the number “52”. Twenty six candles on each cake shows how many years it is. A man’s head comes into frame to blow out the candles.
S02:
VO: I was in a constant cycle of getting sick...
ACTION: After man’s head comes into frame it backs up to reveal a clock with fast moving hands. Head falls out of frame and the clock turns into a hamster wheel spinning. Pushing into the hamster wheel, we see the man’s face appear and he seems to be in pain, like a bad headache, depressed look.
S03:
VO: I missed out on soccer games, graduation ceremonies...
ACTION: The frame of video gets hit hard from the side by a silhouetted fist. Image rotates his face onto it’s side. The face sinks down as a new scene pushes it out of frame (see creative reference #1 above). New scene is a family watching home movies, showing the man his kid’s soccer game. His kid’s team wins and they take a photo together in the home movies and it’s very apparent that he is NOT at the game.
S04:
VO: at one point I wasn't sure if I'd be able to walk my daughter down the aisle on her wedding day.
ACTION: The camera flashes and confetti comes out of the brightness onto a wedding cake. On top of the wedding cake is a bride in position to go down the aisle with her veil down. She’s alone and looks over each shoulder as if she’s looking for her father. The figure on top of the cake is a virtual 3D character that appears static at first and then animates when she looks around for her father.
S05:
VO: Plasma changed all that.
ACTION: The cake implodes and falls inward as water engulfs the cake downward and eventually the entire screen. Once the screen is fully engulfed with water, salmon (in the orange color of Plasma) start swimming up stream in 3D animation. When the fish jump out of the water, they are fully formed salmon. As they fall back into the water, they turn into liquid form to push the narrative of these fish representing plasma.
S06:
VO: After I started treatment, I could hug my kids and their grandchildren for the first time in I don't know how long.
ACTION: The stream of plasma falling back into the stream turns into veins and we go thru a quick wormhole during the line, “After I started treatment”. We flow thru the vein into a silhouette of a father and son hugging.
S07:
VO: BioLife Plasma donors have made it possible to be with the ones I love the most and I couldn't be more grateful for their time and generosity. Thank you.
ACTION: As the hug finally lands into place, the imagery morphs into the words THANK YOU. The word thank you slowly ties itself into a bow on top of a gift.
S08:
VO: There's Purpose In Your Plasma.
ACTION: The textures, bow and attributes of the gift blur away leaving the a solid gradient from gold-red and the Final END CARD animates on with BIOLIFE logo.
