The Andean mountain range forms the spine of the Americas, stretching from Terra Del Fuego, Chilé to Mount Denali in Alaska. In its southern reaches, the highlands of Peru and Bolivia are home to a lineage of pre-Inkan wisdomkeepers known as Paqos. These Maestros of the Living Energy are priest-like healers and mystics; prayerful men and women who are akin to shaman, but differ in their responsibilities as intermediaries between Heaven and Earth, Matter and Spirit.

The origins of the tradition extend back into time immemorial. Andean Paqos represent one of humanity’s few unbroken wisdom lineages and steward a way of life based on animistic consciousness. This episode of REALITY CHECK takes our influencer deep into the heart of this ancient eco-spiritual tradition to discover what it is to be whole, to live an interconnected life, remember who s/he truly is and what it means to be whole (Holy).

Our influencer undergoes an immersion into the holistic culture of the Andean indigenous Maestros. They discover what life is like beyond the constructs of separation, scarcity, competition and fear that influence so much of modern life. The Paqos take our influencer into their rural villages and sacred mountains to undergo purification and harmonisation in vernal springs, make offerings to unseen and eternal forces, ask for assistance with their life, work, relationships and health as well as guidance for their journey of awakening.

Our cameras capture the influencer delving into ancient wisdom teachings and learning the ways in which one can invite harmony and tranquillity to balance the fortitude of the western mind. We feel their whole-hearted engagement of Andean culture, crafts, dance and music; seeing layers of the modern world peeling back as our influencer steps out of the frenetic pace of modern life into the serenity of Nature and Spirit. Audiences find inspiration as our influencer moves through unknown territory, learns the ancient rhythms of this extraordinary land and summons the trust and courage needed to surrender to the infinite wisdom of the human heart.

From the relative lowlands of 12,000’, our journey continues higher into the realms of the Holy Mountains. We visit Inkan temples and ancient ceremonial sites, interact with heart-centric people and bear witness to the sweet release of letting go as our influencer comes face to face with themself outside of accustomed reality and situational expectation. We are made privy to the Paqos sacred and secretive world, experience our influencer dropping their western protections and opening to life and loving presence in the rarefied air above 15,000’.

STORY ARC : We open to our influencer in their daily life, juggling the demands of the business, artistry, fans, family and relationships. We travel to the Andes and enter a world outside of time. Ancient and yet modern. A symphony and harmony of Spirit. The bright colours and clear horizons show the beauty and holistic nature of what life is like beyond limiting constructs and mental restrictions. The Paqos occupy a space of unconditional right relationship, equanimity, respect, faith; unconditional love. The male strength of softness in unmistakable. Unadulterated care and kindness spill forth with each gesture. Our influencer is moved to tears of joy while experiencing this world of unaccustomed grace.

ACT II : We see our influencer soften and release the emotions and separations found in the modern world. We watch as they are comforted and attended to, encouraged to fly, to be free of restrictions and limitations. And to experience life fully open beyond the protections found in the western world, especially when one lauded for their image, capacity and/or artistry. Here we see our influencer opening to the depth of genuine interaction. We see their vulnerability and enjoyment. We follow the unfolding as s/he embodies the spirit of the Andean culture, landscape and people– the animistic cosmology that has sustained a culture which has lived so close to the sky and so rooted in Pachamama (Mother Earth). Music, song, laughter and tears flow... We hear the Paqos’ wisdom, perspectives on the world and how to maintain one’s center in the middle of the larger storm.

ACT III : We are taken to the highest of the mountains and glacial lagoons to be purified, make a celestial offerings and receive energetic transmissions– a seed of consciousness to help our influencer embody his/her fully potential, to clear the way and open the pathway forward. Our influencer sees and is seen in a new light, free of limiting perspectives and ready to bring the consciousness of ancient wisdom home to the western world. Renewed and empowered, we feel the spaciousness of awakening and purpose. We sense the tranquility and nobility of Presence, what it means to be the son or daughter of the Sun.
